The Sandbox’s New LAND Sale Starts Today, Will Include Playboy, Tony Hawk and Snoop Dogg

Leading Ethereum metaverse platform The Sandbox has announced a new, three-part LAND auction in association with big names like Tony Hawk, Snoop Dogg, and Playboy.

Players will be able to purchase new LAND on Sandbox starting today (November 24). This is the first time The Sandbox has collaborated with several celebrities to introduce a LAND sale.

There will be 1,967 LANDs up for auction in the next sale, including 50 estates, 695 normal LANDs, 134 premium LANDs, and 19 1-of-1 pieces of LAND. Standard and premium LAND sales will be assigned via a blind ballot process. In the game, an estate is made up of multiple LANDs that have been linked together to form a bigger piece of land.

Furthermore, the standard and premium LAND sales are distributed via a blind ballot mechanism. By chance, certain players may be chosen for plots near famous people like Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, etc. thanks to the blind ballot.

To participate in the auction, players must have at least 1,011 SAND (about $530) in their meta-wallets. There will only be one land asset per user per person/wallet.

On the platform, there are three land sale waves with the names California Dreamin, The Galleria, and Voxel Madness. The first wave of “California Dreamin” includes locally produced Californian companies like Playboy and the “The Marathon Clothing” brand of legendary rapper Nipsey Hussle. Through their official website, you may access the first phase of the LAND sale.

“By including multiple brands that share a similar theme, like the California brands of California Dreamin’ […] users now have the chance to be neighbors of multiple partners that share a similar theme, like choosing the district you want to live in for a city,” said Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox.

In addition, on December 1st, the second wave of the land auction begins after the first wave. With partners like Cipriani, TIME, and others, the second wave includes LAND sales. The Galleria will also include local experiences in media, hospitality, and virtual fashion.

LAND is a virtual plot of land that has been NFT-ified and serves as the game’s basic unit of construction. Similar to traditional real estate, users may buy plots of land, utilize the location to host activities, or just sell them on markets. There are presently 166,464 LANDs available in the game.
